About FCSG

Fall City Sustainable Growth is a registered non-profit made up of Fall City residents and business owners working to ensure that growth in our community is lawful, safe, and environmentally sound. Fall City is a designated agricultural and rural area facing mounting development pressure from the regional housing crisis - yet we lack the infrastructure, municipal government, and environmental capacity to absorb that growth without serious harm to public health and natural resources. Our mission is to protect the aquifer, so that today's residents and the families who call Fall City home for generations to come will have clean, safe drinking water.

Because Fall City is unincorporated, no local government speaks on our behalf. FCSG fills that gap. Our members bring backgrounds in finance, environmental science, and policy advocacy, and we are entirely volunteer-driven. We sponsor legal action, retain qualified experts, and engage directly with county and state agencies to ensure that applicable rules are followed, that decision-makers understand the unique constraints of our area, and that the interests of all residents - current and future - are represented.

Mission statement
To advocate for accountable, lawful, and environmentally responsible growth in Fall City through community organizing, agency engagement, and, when necessary, legal action.

Our priorities:

  • Ensure full compliance with SEPA, the Growth Management Act, and King County land use code

  • Protect groundwater, surface water, and the sensitive watersheds that supply Fall City's drinking water

  • Address the absence of infrastructure - sewer, stormwater, transportation - before new density is approved

  • Safeguard the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians, and drivers on rural roads not designed for urban traffic volumes

  • Advocate at the county and state levels for environmental protections and honest assessment of cumulative development impacts

  • Represent the interests of current and future residents in land use proceedings where no local government exists to do so
